Puppy
Classes
We hold puppy training and socialisation classes. Our
aim is to encourage early socialisation with both other
puppies and people. We hope to prevent future problems
that are often related to lack of socialisation or incorrect
socialisation. The kennel club approves these classes,
we are working to the puppy foundation award good citizen
scheme and we have 'Listed Status' Classes are held
at different venues at Badgeworth on the A38 and in
Weston-super-Mare.

What's involved?
During the course we ask you to think about how your
puppy learns new things and what we can do to make learning
situations as easy as possible. We encourage the use
of praise, food and toy rewards. This will increase
the bond between you and your puppy and make training
both a lot easier and a lot more fun!

We start teaching the puppies some basic commands and
exercises, some of these include:
-
Recalling you puppy back to you
-
Walking on a loose lead
-
Sit, Down and Stand
-
Stay
-
Waiting and Walking through doorways
-
Interacting with other puppies and people
-
Meeting an appropriate adult dog from the tutor
team
-
Fetching and Leaving toys
-
Grooming and handling
-
Food manners

Information:
The classes run for 6 weeks. The puppy stays at home
for the first lesson and all the owners meet for a discussion
on common behaviour and health issues and to have any
questions answered. The puppies come along to the other
5 lessons when they get to have their say! The lessons
last for 1 hour and the cost is £46.
